An acrylic painting from 2003. This was inspired by the Tarzan books of Edgar Rice Burroughs- this is a gold-bedecked woman of the lost atlantean city of Opar out for a stroll in the jungle with a devolved beast man of the same city.

The way you use colors is just incredible beautiful; your pictures really have a lot of feelings

This picture is beautiful. To be honest, I don't care for the "big women" you draw, but this girl -- her face, body, her fair skin, all given the added luster of the rich golden jewels she is bedecked with -- is absolutely stunning. Coupled with the lush green of the jungle and the earthy tones of the ape, she and this painting are of another world. Very unusual and excellent piece.

I just finished the view of your gallery and must say I am impressed, really impressed. Your women remind me the women of Spanish artist called Botero, but yours are more sexy, hehe. Only wanted to congratulate you for you wonderful art. I have also read all Rice's books, they are fantastic.

I love this!! If I had the money, I'd buy it. Is it for sale? And would it be rude to ask how much? Do you do art trades?

:-) Jedediah Dougherty replies: "I'm glad you like it! Unfortunately this one is sold already, I think for $400 US. What kind of art trade are you considering? So far I have only colored a piece of line art for someone else on Elfwood."

I love the blue skin! Surely if you've read the Burroughs you've read Howard. How about a nice round Belit? I have an action figure from Macfarlane that I'm just not happy with.

Well, you may not be able to tell by just dropping through this part of the gallery, but if this lady is hanging out on you desk, watching you like that all day, you notice something. She's always watching you. ALWAYS. No matter if I'm over by my bookshelf, or coming out of my son's room, or sitting right here - she's looking at me. It's not creepy, like those portraits you can imagine someone behind the walls looking at you. But it is very strange. I've had lots of strange blue and green dreams. And red feathers. This picture makes me dream about a red-feathered cloak.

You are by far the best artist on elfwood. You're absolutely great. This is my favorite character which i like to draw. You draw it better though. I love her costume and the erm...Baboon thinggy.Lol.The background of the opar city is beautiful. I'd love to see you do another painting of this character. You are a great inspiration, keep up the good work.
