An acrylic painting from 2003. This is an enormously muscular vampire queen.

Funny, vampires are usually portrayed as kind of fragile. Way to fight the system! For some reason her face and her pose remind me of Napoleon...must be the dark features. Very good.

:-) Jedediah Dougherty replies: "Napoleon had that same small featured, wide face. Maybe you're being reminded by the throne and all? If she has imperial ambitions, that might explain why she's so huge- gorged on the blood of rival armies."

WHoa. She definitely rocks. Very different from the "usual" vampire pics, but I like it.
And I want that throne! Well, I won't get it, she'd eat me alive, even without vampiric powers (imagine me having the stature people mostly imagine on vampires, but not having the faintest hint of their powers, sigh). But I still want that thing.

Love this picture. It really gives vampires a better name. As for the throne. It rocks!!!! One thing I noticed is her muscle mass. There seems to be a lot of it and I am not saying that its a bad thing but she has so much she almost looks fat. but her more power there too. This pic rules. keep up the great work...

:-) Jedediah Dougherty replies: "Thanks! Glad you like the picture. As for looking fat, we will assume she is in what bodybuilders refer to as "off season" shape, which is when they have some body fat."

Well, the colors are nearly Napoleonic, I think. Is that a word? It is now. If the orange were redder, you'd have the colors from the French flag. I also seem to remember a red, white, and blue portrait of Napoleon as well. Maybe his clothes were those colors? 12

This is great. I see that occasionally, you are asked questions about your fantasy art that echo simillar questions that I get- but not because my images of women are overtly buff. The answer is deliciously simple- it's fantasy. And you capture it so well!

Whose blood has she been drinking? Superman's? My favorite part is the look of complete bad-ass-ness (if that is a word).
