He has got to be one of favorite villains from the Star Wars films. The action Darth Maul brought to a light saber duel was remarkable. I did this in pencil then pen ink and then scanned it into photo shop where it was colored. Some of the far background wall on the left side was done in Illustrator and so were the small yellow panels on the floor. It seems to me that something isn’t right with his grasp on his light saber.

I agree with everything about how the hands meant to be facing but your also though a very small detail that is you want to have the light saber slanting you must also have the wrist slanting besides that I LOVE THE PICTURE.

This picture is more than Maul deserves. seriously. This is such a good picture for such a rubbish sith.
Congratulations on making maul look good for once!

Your pic is cool. I agree that the lightsaber should be turned around in a defencive position, not an offensive position. But any how the pic is quite interesting. Keep up the good work.

Also, he doesn't grip his saber at the center, he grips it near the end so he can easily wield it two handed. As a matter of fact, the only possible way to weild it is two handed becaus one hand just wouldn't have enough strength to match the weapons akwardness. Yeah, I think thats what looks wrong, throughout most of the duel he wielded it two-handed, maybe thats what wrong?

Out of cool villians Darth Maul would be damn well high on the list (under Sephiroth of course)
Wow nice work on the background.

If I may interject my own opinion about the smexiest Dark Lord in Star Wars. The folds on the robes are realistic but there really isn't that much fabric to it. The breeches are loose fitting but not meant to hang off the frame of the wearer. Also about the grip on his sabre. If he had taken his right hand off the lightsword for a temporary defense then his left would be canted to one side and not planted in the middle of the grip.

Hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining because I'm not! Lol. Facial tatoos are excellent and I love his expression *rawr*

At first it seemed fine to me, but the problem is that the handle is supposed to be two handed, it should be just a tad longer. Other than that, it’s a beautiful drawing! ^_^
