Tag As FavoriteComment		did this a couple yrs ago ~ I found this amazing photo of him in an old book of Man Ray's photos, and I was hypnotized. he reminds me of a wolf. he was also an amazing and very troubled writer of the '20s.

YESS!! Artaud! Dramatic theorist and a surrealist ~til they kicked him out, poor guy. Wrote "The Theatre and Its Double", to establish a form of theatre that would communicate directly with the audience on a sensory level. I think this picture is totally in that spirit! It is the color and the energy and the tension in it that arrests the viewer's attention and draws 'em right in. It's fabulous!

Wow.....I've been into surrealist theatre for years, and I 've never found nayone who did a portrait of Artaud. This is amazing! You really got across his turmoil and his...I don't know, just his attitude and feeling...this is really really great work. Amaxing.

you know, this whole thing about 1926 and the wolf is interesting in relation to this German writer Hermann Hesse, who that particular year wrote the "Steppenwolf" (yes the band was named after that) which is about this 50year old that has an internal struggle with his 'civilized' nature and his 'wolf' nature, the "Steppenwolf". Check it out

He is beautiful. I feel that you truly captured the soul of this man, a feat which truly is timeless. His eyes are deeper than the paper, his expression holds more than one emotion...he is human. Life without Breath.
