Life Unwanted

She sits up in her castle,

Her sad eyes Looking out.

She always showed the proper manner,

Though she yearned to Scream and shout.

She was much more beautiful,

Than any other in the land.

Though her mind was full of sadness,

From the birthmark on Her Hand.

One could only wonder,

how much more beautiful she’d be,

If she would ever shed a smile,

or a small laugh out in glee.

Though this girl never learned to smile,

it was not taught in her classes.

And since a crown was on her head,

she could not play with lads and lasses.

She was forced to eat in silence,

and wear a dress down to the floor.

Given all she ever needed,

Though she yearned for something more.

She always wished for freedom,

from the life her birth had given.

Always wished for something truer,

than the lie that she was livin.

She wished to roll around,

in the daisy covered field.

How she yearned to pass the gates,

that forever made her yield.

Tomorrow she is to wed,

a man she hates with heart and soul.

Though her father doesn’t care,

as long as he receives his gold.

She sits up in her castle,

Before silently sneeking out.

Loneliness surrounds her,

Though her heart was free of Doubt.

Wow how truly sad and touching. A great poem i liked how you spaced it out kinda like falling downwards to the end or should i say her end as she floated (plummeted) down. Really truly touching! Great stuff!

:-) Jenny (Jeni) Watson replies: "wow someone noticed the alignment of the poem. **is happy** though i changed the ending of this poem recently since well, i am definately not for suicide and couldn't stand my poem plummeting to its end. "

Very nice poem. Sad, but sometimes can be true. I'm thankful I don't live a life like that.

:-) Jenny (Jeni) Watson replies: "Yep not everything is as it seems. And god knows how horrible it would be for the world if i had royalty in me. Teach them kings and queens how to boogie. hehe"
