She seems like a tough gal... and i really like her. great job on the pose and the colored penciling! Jennifer Portela replies: "Thank you Amber! The "no comments yet" box was making me sad. I really don't like the scanner though...it makes the picture looks kinda fuzzy and blurs some detail. *sigh*" | |
| 6 Feb 2004 | d gerre | Loading...Hey, visiting as promised. I could tell this was your latest drawing (even if you hadn't said so in your bio), because the progress is remarkable. The anatomy in this picture is better than in your other drawings (I think someone already said something about "arms being longer than your waist" or something). Her pose is also much more natural and relaxed (in your "forbidden meeting" the characters stand up a little too straight, as if they have a stiff back or something). And the colour here is applied more smoothly, with subtle but effective contrast. Besides that, I like her expression. Good job. Post more work! Your gallery is too small. Jennifer Portela replies: "Thank you very much! Yes, I can see some improvement in my own work too...since I've been drawing much more to post new stuff. Also, in "Forbidden Meeting" I was using Crayola colored pencils because the lack of something better haha, and in the "Taking a Break" I FINALLY had some real art pencils...so thanks for noticiing!" | |

| 24 Mar 2004 | Thomas J. Griffin | Loading...I really like the colors, purple being a fav... which might seem odd but... this drawing is really amazing, you should add a background to it! I also am also agreeing that the shading and posture are good. As for proportions your either there or not far off, all my characters still seem to have charlie brown heads. Jennifer Portela replies: "Thanks! I've been working on those darn proportions, and it seems to be paying off. " | |
| 27 Mar 2004 | Aunt Susy | Loading...Hey Jenn, This one's good! It really makes you feel how tired she is from her training! You didn't send me this one in the recent batch... I had to just see it online with everyone else, I guess! Keep up the drawing! Jennifer Portela replies: "Oh I thought I let you see this one! Thank you for commenting...it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside haha. Bye!" | |
| 26 Nov 2004 | Darius | Loading...Very nice posture, and I love the purple / brown color usage. You used shading extremely well and it seems like the more I stare at this lady the more the little details you put into it pop out. Very very good job! | |
| 19 Dec 2004 | Kevyn Hale | Loading...Very nice picture and posture, but the color needs work. I suggest using complements and putting in good rich color, that way it will be bright. Also try to put some wrinkles in the clothes to make it more lively. P.S. ASk in coments if you dont know what complements are. | |
