Uh… What to say… My mind is literally blank right—Ok, there it goes!

I think this may be a new character… Or just something I’ll throw to the back of my mind to gather dust.

It originally was supposed to be Indus wielding fire, but it somehow mutated into this… this calico fire mage. I guess I was trying something new. Besides, there’s not really a lot of anthros in my gallery, just the foxes and Edge. I’m on a quest to draw something different for a change, and experiment more with watercolors.

Hope you guys enjoy this… Spent nearly two days on this thing: a whole night sketching and tracing the lineart onto watercolor paper, and an entire day painting. The rest is a blur but it was very relaxing. Made me forget my worries. I will come back and fix a few things with the color and stuff. Hmm... This thing is screaming for a background...

Criticism is welcome, so gimme your best shot!

.....(Finally rescanned this thing...)

Great! Really cute expression and excellent fire 0_o *looks envious* My flames never look right... Lovely stance and nice merging from the cat to human. Really, really like this. ^-^

:-) Jennifer Deese replies: "Even though the fire was fun to do, I think I still messed it up... Thank you for commenting!"

This is an excellent character piece, Jennifer. The expression is one of your best ;-) . I think that if the shadows were pushed more throughout the figure, you would achieve better depth. But, all and all, a good piece of work ;-) .

2 Jennifer Deese replies: "Thank you for the constructive comment. You’re saying that I should make the shadows stronger then? And maybe put in a cast shadow?"

I think it’s pretty cool looking. I think u should give it a kinda dark, foggish background. It would make her really stand out with all her bright colors!

:-) Jennifer Deese replies: "Thanks for the tips! "

She’s pretty cool. Though I must say, it can be dangerous to wave that torch around with one eye covered with hair. LOL.

:-) Jennifer Deese replies: "Yeah, I know 1

I guess she’d better be careful then 12"
