Tainted



I can feel my eyes as they flutter so gently open,

Taking my life, but as no token,

I can taste the blood pouring through my skin,

Now I do know that there is no way that I can win.



I feel dirty and unwanted as I stumble down the streets,

Shield my eyes from the sun, as the night does complete.

I hiss as the light burns through my ruined remains,

Tainted is the dawn, though for night my lust contains.



Careening through the dank alleys; I now lay upon the ground,

My blood still pours through my skin, where now my tainted corpse is found.

I awaken in a small room, which in instruments all around me,

Not realizing where I am, I wish to the holy lord above that I am still free.



I feel a sharp blow to the back of my skull, and I fall into an uneasy sleep,

Falling into unconsciousness as the lifeless souls about my body do keep,

My pride and life once lost to the world of the kind and living,

Now, I slip into a life of nothing more than a world far less than riveting.
