A poem about Destiny and love but mostly about how they go hand in hand in the world.

Waltz for the Stars

Destiny has her own will,

But if she had her own way,

Then we'd be nothing more than spills

On the carpet she has laid.

O, if you please, waltz once more,

And show me that truly you do care.

Take a slow and lively step, one… two more,

And I'll show you how much my heart truly tears

If you stay for one more waltz

I'll show you the Will 'o' the Wisp.

If you listen to me about my faults,

I'll show you how faeries eat perhaps of their sips.

You're weary of fighting,

I know and as am I.

But I'm weary of the flighting

Fear that creeps up behind my eyes.

You tell me, "Dearest, smile,"

And I reply, "I cannot."

You say, "Am I not worthwhile?"

I reply, "You're worth every thought."

"But if only you'd sit and listen to my pleads,"

"Then you'd see MY true colours, for once,"

"And maybe then, you'll like what you see,"

"Or maybe not; it's worth a shot, or you could be a dunce."

I've waltzed for the moon; the sky; the sun,

I've waltzed for the hawk on his nightly run.

I've even waltzed for you, waiting from afar,

But one thing I've never done is waltzed for the stars.

If destiny's carpet lay perpetually brandished

By the sands of wanters; of followers,

Then she will begin to wish,

Of cleaner, shallower waters.

Destiny has her own will,

But if she had her own way,

We'd be nothing more than spills

On the carpet she has laid.

That was like living in a dream as I read it. Words cannot describe the way it made me feel about things in life. It was heartwrenching as well as beautiful, like the songs that flow from your beautiful voice as you sing the sorrows of the world away.
