Another image from early 2009. Some of you may recognize this from my livejournal. I added a quick background for web display. The image itself is a simple spot illustration for my next how-to-draw book, the content of the book being centered around dragons exclusively this time.

This image sits alongside a unit on ways to tear and tatter your dragons wings. Obviously in this image the tearing is excessive and would impede the dragon's ability to fly!

Please do not edit out my watermark or repost this image elsewhere. Thank you.

Poor dragon! What on earth happened to him? I bet that hurts, and he won’t be able to fly. Perhaps that’s why he’s so aggressive - the pose with the wings raised like that is incredibly effective.

I also just wanted to add that I really admire your 3D skills - e.g. in this picture, the two wings are seen from different angles but are immediately obvious as the same pose, and it’s clear that you’ve really thought out the wing position in three dimensions, rather than just concentrating on how it looks from the angle you’ve drawn it. That’s a difficult skill.

*Gasp* I love, love the wings. It’s pretty sad really, but it looks pretty cool, too. Great detail. Wonder what happened to him.
