Detail of page 23 from an independently published comic book I am doing with Christopher Stuck called Heathen Sent.

this sweet fellow is the Aztec god of the dead, Mictlantecuhtli. I had WAY too much fun drawing and colouring him, so here's a detail. =D

In the night he walk in the shadows looking for unwary... if you hear his bells is cause his steps’s approaching you, you must scream to make him think that he is in the underworld and he go away from you, otherwise he take your soul to give you to Mictlan and your skull adorn his belt
