SciFi and Fantasy Art Archangel by Jill Johansen

Archangel from the X-Men. I did this picture for X-Assault. he is in his current costume... well, um, because... :) actually i never did like his Archangel costume, I mean honeslty, does blue and pink spandex scream 'death' to you?? and the leather suits him, tho the funky pipes on his arms and legs are... odd... oh yeah and I made sure to make his wings HUGE giant things that could conceivably get him off the ground... if these wings were spread out they would be gigantic. I hate it when artists draw him (or any winged creature, for that matter) with wings that would be too small to be able to get him off the ground... who cares if these wings would never be able to be hidden under his clothes, I say! it is more important that he be able to fly.

MAybe you people should not look at wings as tools of flying , tehy can be used for protection or as cloack and it symbols a status of something holy Jill Johansen replies: "well, this is an existing character and his primary use of the wings (when they’re the feathered ones) is flight, so..."
