I understand that Ariel is a free spirited individual. One does not think of a jolly fat man as a wispy kind of creature, you're right on that. However, the body form seems slightly creepy. The slenderness of Ariel and the position of his hand attests to this. Your piece is beautiful, keep pursuing your art. Tenderly, your fellow artist Eva K. Martyir replies: "Yes, I agree. The hand was actually drawn at a different time, as was the ship, so they turned out a bit different. I wasn't really paying too much attention when I drew any of it, actually. Thanks for the critizism! (It seems too many people are afraid to give it because they don't want to offend anyone.) Come again soon!" | |
| 3 Jan 2005 | Ivory | Loading...It may the nature of line drawings, but I feel a certain lack of depth. The ship may or may not be floating in Ariel's hand, he may or may not have bad intentions with it, it 's just not very clear, the audience is left guessing and interpreting for themselves. Hm, perhaps it 's a wonderful piece of art. Anyway, I copied the image to the top of my webpage about Ariel, with a link back. Hope you don't mind . | |
| 5 Jan 2005 | Henrik ´Poet Hater´ K. Larsson | Loading...I agree, the hand below the ship is excellent! But, yes, it could use with a little more depth, I'm thinking. Perhaps with a bit of background it wouldn't seem as such? I don't know. | |
