Again my earlier pictures done in cell with miniature paints. Mean looking warrior heavily influenced by Warhammer 40.000 miniatures in the time when I didn't know anything about WH40k. He is part of this future finnish army squad wielding chainswords.

Actuly chainswords are not verry good weppons cause the cintrifacle forse of the blade will throw the wielder off balince

pluss its inefective aggenst armor

Well, the wielder is wearing powered armour of some sort... of course, it presumably isn't made specifically for chainsword wielders (waste of space and money for one weapn) so having a sort of double chainsword, with one set of blades spinning in the opposite direction of the other (there'd still be a little moment perpendicular to the blade but it wouldn't matter much). Make it out of the right materials (monomolecular carbon, which there's been a lot of work in lately, could work nicely) and it should chew through armour well enough. Admittedly, a nice minigun'd usually be more practical but, as you said, they look cool.

:-) Jani Jinxter Mutikainen replies: "So true - but I think that chainswords effect would be more of a psycological sort than actually be practical killing tool. Like you mentioned minigun ... you can be efficient in much greater distance than with chainsword. Perhaps chainsword would be more of a leader's symbol that would strike fear to enemy's heart."

hehe, I like this one too, it looks really cool!

1 Jani Jinxter Mutikainen replies: "Im glad that someone appreciates ancient art of cellpainting. It does have this sort of clean look to it. "

Wh40k chainswords work, the cetrefugal force idea would throw the wielder about a bit but then it wasn't a weapon designed to be used with any finesse, if used by a space marine he's so strong it doesn't matter anyway, eldar can compensate by antigravs and anyhone else just swings and hopes
