XD I think the wings should be bigger - except if he can't really fly. Looking at his feet it seems like he's standing on the ground. In that case it would look better if you hinted at the ground by drawing a bit of shadow. You already did a nice start on shading Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "Well orignially he was supposed to fly, but that was done a long time ago and actually I like the idea of his wings just being there for the heck of it. You pointed out another interesting thought when you said the "armor" could be a parasite.... hmmm *pretends to have deep thoughts*"
| 29 Mar 2004 | Wendy Bittnerová | Loading...This is another interesting piece...but this time I'm kind of grossed out by those wierd veins? Not that it's a bad thing...cause getting someone to "feel" something about your work is always good...even if they're "grossed-out" *grins*! Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "I'm glad this old picture was able to evoke some emotions, I'm actually not that pleased with it but I wanted to show some of my older work. Thank you very much for taking the time to look at my humble gallery." | |
| 30 Mar 2004 | Sophie 'Photosoph' Matthews | Loading..."Fly... FLY!" *cackling*. "I'll get you, my pretty... and your little dog too!" *Ahem*. Excuse that little piece of randomness, please... Very nice pencilwork! I think maybe boredom sometimes inspires art... it's surprising how many people draw in the middle or the back of their maths book... me included, lol. Excellent job on the face and wings. I like the feathery bits on its head and wings, and the design on its body and feet... especially on the feet. The tail is neat too *grabs tail and gets carried up into the air as 'Bird Thingy' flies after Dorothy and Toto with a gang of evil monkeys* But I think the feet would maybe look better if they were a little bigger. I really like your pencilwork ( ^ as said above). Great job on this pic! Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "Thank you very much for your wonderful comments... even if they are a little strange at times and yes I know that boredom inspires art; or at least it inspires me." | |
| 7 Apr 2004 | Katie M. Binning | Loading...Very nice. Reminds me of the legendary 'Roc', a gigantic bird-beast that swooped out of the air and tackled elephants for it's babies. The feet and talons are done very cool, as are the wings. I'd suggest a little more shading, but its very good as is. Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "Well he's not as big as a roc but I suppose he could be an elephant eating bird too. "That only counts as one!" - Gimli LOTR Return of the king." | |

| 21 May 2004 | Jenni Powner | Loading...I like the contrast of the sharp lines with the softer lines and it's a good kinda character concept really - most people would say "try colouring it" but I'm not going to cos Im generally more of a black-and-white kinda gal ) anyway yeh good work ) a bit more shading would be cool - give some more contrast, make it a bit darker .. but thats really all I can think to say at the moment, I'm a little tired lol Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "Well thanks for the imput, I love it when people give me imput." | |

Anyway, again, great composition as well as drawing an awesome bird type thingamajig. *thumbs up* Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "Well actually I think I know what happened, I think they missread a comment I put on a mod's choice the other day. They thought I was insulting the picture so they decided to get some poetic justice I guess... anyway I was never fond of this picture any how Glad you like it though."
| 23 Jun 2004 | Donald A. Beck Scarabgareb@aol...com> | Loading...This one is my favorite. It reminds me of this birdman story that my friends used to tell me about. Please draw a grease monster to go with it. Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "Hmm... A grease monster... I wonder what that'd look like. Well, I certainly can think on that, it sounds interesting. I'll tell you what, if I feel motivated someday, meaning don't get your hopes up :/ I'll draw my rendition of a grease monster up and post it. Thanks a lot for stopping by and commenting.BTW: I'm glad you like the pic, but I really wasn't expecting anyone to say it was their favorite... I guess I'm so good I don't know how good I am lol " | |
