This is yet another piece based off of characters from the colaboration I'm working on. Yet again this picture will never happen. For several reasons this time though... Of course there's the obvious, Alexis and Cody are not in a fantasy setting, the other big reason is that that it's completely against character for both of them. Were this situation to happen the big critter would be trying to crawl away while Alexis kicked the heck out of it and Cody would be standing there thinking 'This is so embarrasing, I'm being saved by a chick. But it's kinda cool too... I get to watch a babe beat the crap outta a hecka big monster.' Ok, that's what *would* happen but I'm going to ignore that. So what's actually happening in the picture is that this monster attacked Alexis and now Cody is coming to her aid. He's psyched up with the thrill of combat and Alexis is realizing that people do care and not everyone is all bad. It's kind of symbolic, a lot has been going on with one of my friend's families and it's brought home to me that; things, and people, are not always as they appear... That's kind of what Alexis is realizing right now. Whee... Hand drawn, good old pencil and paper. Comments please! Oh yea... a couple other notes, I don't know what that big creature is... maybe an ogre or troll. And in case you're wondering Alexis' shirt says in big type 'Save The Whales' and in small print at the bottem '(Screw The Humans)' Yea, I know, she's a wonderful person :P

Great! Yep, your right. This is exactly the opposite of what would be happening. Good job on the shading. You know my other opinions about this picture. Great Job!

:-) Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "Besides the fact that it'd never happen I rather like this picture."

Cool pic dude. I can't believe it. An update so soon after I just commented. Nice. What is that thing. Oh, and I actually read your description before commenting. My Girlfriend is just like that. Not the sweet and innocent type, but you know, the one who would be kicking the freak.

:-) Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "lol thanks"

I actually might suggest using more shading to define the muscles in your bad guy. He seems to be all the same shade of gray, I would suggest using darker grays and erase where the highlights would be. Make sure you know where your light source is coming from so you can accurately shade and highlight each subject. Hope that helps some. Take care now!

:-) Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "I spent over an hour working on the shading on the troll critter thing... ogre? Anyway it lost lots of definition going onto elfwood 8 But thanks a lot for the comment."

As far as crits go...I have to agree that the coloring of the "ogre" is nice and smooth...but there's little contrast to the shading and he looks flat. However, his design is nice, I especially like his long nose! And the emotions in your other 2 characters are very well done. Nice pic!

:-) Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "Yeah, I discovered noses are fun to play with a while ago (boy that sounds funny). Also part of the inspiration for this particular critter were the trolls from D&D and they have hecka long noses."

No! Don't kill the big evil guy, he looks cool!

:-) Jeremy N. Marcum replies: "I know I certainly wouldn't want to try to kill him, especially with that puny weapon. Actually Cody's the type who'd want to make friends with that thing... like I said this picture is very OOC (out of character)."
