Erm I've an rp char whose both man and panther, charmed by mother nature to help protect her children.. his race having been hunted to near extinction because of fear and misunderstanding, he seeks out one of nature as well who could love both sides and help to unite them and set him free from his curse and help bring back his race so that together they may yet save the people and the creatures of his world. This is for Aily who agrees an elf in the moonlight is a beautiful sight to behold :) and who doesn't mind a story about a sexy fellow who spends some of his time stuck as a huge panther until a magical spell is broken by true love.

The Last

Born in a time
When fantasy was real
And shadows were forever it seemed
At odds with the light
The last of a dying race
Struggled to survive
Cursed long ago by nature
To live a life of creature and of man
As guardian and saint
To struggle down a path
Of torture and reward

Walking upon the shard remains
Left by those who tread before him
With hair as dark as sin
And eyes as blue as a sea at depth
The tongue of man as sweet
As if coated by sugar and dipped into silver
Speaking the words of an ancient language
Forgotten over time
To ears long since turned deaf

With great beastly paws
To protect the children spawned of nature
Of a mother that was far too busy creating
To linger and protect
Forever seeking
In search for one soul
To end his curse and bring back his dying kind

One who would look beyond the beauty of a man
And the pelt of night
That shields his beastly soul
To care not for what little he had to offer
But still desire to heal
The wounds hidden well with-in
And to break the curse placed upon him

So long ago
To never love
And never know
The gentle grace of a woman
Not frightened by his darker sides
Until a day comes
When one and only one

Will look beyond both man and beast
To see the heart that pleads
For someone who could
And save a dying race.

This is very creative and unique to say the least, Again First comment dance! WOOOOT WOOT!

I am reminded in this poem of a comic book character, I cant remember his name but he was a dragon of long ago, and from a spell he was transformed into a man Well over the like 8000 years of his life, or so he learned to adapt but he slept or something threw most of it, but he now is part of a super hero team, and he can change from man to beast, and being the last dragon of his kind there is such beauty in his aloneness...such sorrow, and pain.

Lovely poem Jean! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVELY!

Joeie's absolutely right my dear. This is lovely. Ooooo! I just got a great idea. I love this poem so much and the idea of an elf guy that changes into a panther that if you e-mail me a description of this RP character of yours, I'll be happy to get him drawn in both forms for you. *big hugs* Anything to make up for how long it's taken me to get my little blue pixie boy drawn. ^_________^ Take care my dear and wonderful friend.

Again, this is fantastic... Somehow, I think, certainly one of my favourites... A very emotional one, what is the beauty and paradox of loneliness... A bitter sweet account, touching and creative...
You did an excellent job with this one, Jeanie!

1 Jean M Boree replies: "Hey Lady D! : ) *hugs* So glad you found this poem too 2 You think it's really emotional? it was a real struggle to get this one to go *pouts* but I'm thrilled to know that a few of my darling friends have found something intresting to like about it 2 *hugs tight* thank you for letting me know what you think dear."
