So, per request, here (finally) are the two shirts I made (yup, there's two now) off of the shirt design I made for Teyindahl. Shirt A is made from predyed linnen/cotten and shirt B is made from hemp summer cloth and dyed with procion dyes. You want to hear the long story? If not, just scroll down. So here it goes: A friend and I bought these patters based on the move 'Mask of Zorro.' Sounds odd, I know, but the shirt part of the pattern had potential. We modified it a bit (shortened the slit in the front, gave it cuffs instead of elastic, modified the waist) until it was basically the shirt Iolair Dearg is wearing (because I used it as a model). So then I was drawing a picture of Teyindahl (not one up here), and I used that shirt as a very loose base for designing the jacket. Another friend was watching me color the picture, and she kept saying 'I want that shirt.' (I teased her about wanting a shirt that low ^_~). Then, friend-1 and I were talking about what to give friend-2 for her birthday, and she suggested making her some garb. I said 'You know, she really likes the shirt in this drawing...' So we collaberated, bounced ideas back and forth off each other, and she made a shirt that was basically the same as shirt B here but with sleaves more like A. (I made a jerkin). Friend-2 loved it. Later, I took the design she made for that shirt, and modified it yet again to make first the jacket (A) and then the shirt (B). One of the reasons I like these shirts (besides the fact that it's a bit of my fantasy world come to life ^_^) is that they show what can happen when people share ideas. ::pant pant:: I told you it was a long story.

Ooooh... pretty! I want one too 14 And I definitely like the shoes *nods*Really, they're not that hard to make (says she who's used that pattern at least 5 times). I can't take credit for the boots, though - got them at a tack shop!

I pick B, no A, uh strike that definately B. Nice costumes
I do like B better but I've always tended towards higher color saturation. Have any more costume art work? I have another shirt done in this style, made from polyester suede cloth, and other than that I just have my Renaissance garb. Nothing else really costume-y.

Shirt A is nicer. I like loose cuffs.

Wow, these are awesome! I really wish I could sew. You're right, those kinds of clothes make your fantasies a little bit more real. I love the bagginess of both shirts. A's probably my favorite because I like big sleeves. 1 They're both beautiful, though.
