''None of us felt secure so we decided to take turns keeping watch. It was well into my watch (which was shorter than it should have been because Tori woke me up late), when I heard a small noise that made me look over at Silver. He was sleeping in the corner next to where I was sitting, curled up under his windbreaker, which he had pulled up to his nose. It made him look almost child-like, which was a startling contrast to how he was awake. Nothing looked amiss, though, so I went back to trying to redo the lower half of my braid.''

(1 of 2 pictures illustrating a scene from the scifi novel in my Wyverns page. I spontaniously sketched this out in painter and never expected it to turn out as good as it did. I'm especially proud of the metallic hair.)

10 Mar 2003	Chris Ellinger	Loading... I love Silver! Your ideas and talent continue to blow me away! This picture, like so many of the others, captures the essence of the story perfectly (not surprisingly since they're yours!). Yes, the metallic hair is good! I think what I like about Silver is his melancholy. He's so child-like and he wants to be innocent, but he never will be again. He's almost one of those characters for whom death would be the kindest option. (No offense!) This would make a good book cover, or maybe at least a small piece of the cover if you wanted to go for a certain angle. Jenny Olivera replies: "I think part of him really longs for a childhood, since he never truly had one (he was a child, but he didn't have a childhood) and he never had a chance to be innocent."
14 Aug 2006	Rianne Marijke Penning	Loading... I like silver-sleeping 1&2 very much. It just look real! You did said you did make this pics in painter. That's an computer program, yes? Do you draw with a tablet? And again, I like this pics very, very much! Jenny Olivera replies: "It's a computer program (which I sadly can't use anymore after my OS upgrade, and the newer version doesn't work the same), it came with my first Wacom tablet."
