| 15 Sep 2006 | Melissa De Meuleneire | Hello Johanna! I see I'm the first one to comment, girl! Well, I had a look at your sketches and I can give some constructive criticism if it is appreciated. Hope so... Ok, so I'll first point out your strong points. You know a bit more than the basics of the human body and that's a big pluspoint! When I look at "Kitty" I see that the artist has perception and knows about depths and highlights. However, it does not go far enough to actually make a work that speaks for itself. My suggestion is that you look at others' works as much as you can handle and experiment in all ways possible. If you really want to expand, you will have to work hard and stay devoted to art for the rest of your life; which is more than worth it, believe me! Maybe it's also the low quality of the scanning that takes off a lot of the quality; I can't know. Another suggestion is that perhaps you should try using colors as an extra tool; there are heaps of possibilities. Ok, I hope I was a little helpful. Good luck and have fun!!!
