Silver Skies

The village was burning. That's pretty much all that Belros BroadBlade new at the moment he was lying on his back on top of a pile of dead twisted inhuman bodies he vaguely heard a woman screaming and tried to get up but the spear through his stomach pinned him down the demonic horde moved around him running in eager to kill the remaining villagers the sky was blood red as strange clouds started to form suddenly a human voice shouted from beside him exuberantly “The master comes!” Belros looked up and a red mist swirling down from the sky and knew the greatest fear of his life. The mist seemed to be coming towards him strange inhuman voices joined into a hellish chant as Belros looked up chanting himself “The bear the wolf the eagle.” Over and over he uttered his tribes religious chant as if it could drive off the approaching evil the mist touched his skin and he felt a incredible sensation of pain arc through him he tried to scream out in pain and terror but his body wouldn't listen something caught the sound in his throat then he heard a over powering sinister voice in his head “Yes you'll do nicely young northlander” the scream finally vented out of his throat then Belros knew only blackness.

The townspeople ran screaming as the chaos horde rushed in at them and from a hilltop a dark form watched them and lifted his hand. The townspeople died consumed by fires from the very pits of hell and the demons eagerly rushed in to devour their torched flesh. The form lifted its helmet from his face regarding the scene in cold joy eyes burning bright red…it was Belros. More accurately it wasn't Belros it was the demon lord Belatu-Cadros. But he too was being watched from the shadows a pair of Lightning blue eyes flared and only a calming elven hand restrained the ogre from bursting at the demon god.
“Easy Griz we don't want to kill him we want to save him.” Serentil soothed his gruff friend but a dwarven voice broke in.
“Look out they've found the kiddies!” Dorgauld was right the human children were being flushed out of the cave they hid in. They ran screaming up the hill were Belros and his demon chiefs waited drawing wicked blades or starting to cast foul magics.
“Stay here.” That was the only explanation Serentil gave as he leapt into the air fiery wings appearing on his back as he flew with remarkable speed towards Belros. Belros looked up and growled firing some bolts of destructive energy at the half phoenix as he swooped in but Ser easily avoided them a quick formation of fire made a flaming blade in his hands which he used to throw phoenix fire at the Generals as his swoop continued. The generals all tried to dodge the deadly flames and three were only knocked off their feet with minor wounds but the last General was engulfed in righteous fire and died with a unearthly shriek of protest.

Belros Grunted as Ser impacted with him and they both fell to the ground struggling and wrestling.
“Fool half-Phoenix did you think to save your precious mortals?” Belros spat out at Ser.
“Indeed I intended to save them from your drawling voice, it gets grating on the nerves.” Ser replied pleasantly punching him in the jaw with a flame-covered fist. Belros growled both from the insult and the pain of his bubbling flesh as it burned under the intense heat. With a howl of rage Belros threw him across the hilltop where they fought and got to his feet.
“And now you die fool half-phoenix” A voice from beside Serentil hissed and the demon general raised his curved sword and prepared the strike that would end Sers life. The blow never landed.

The demon turned his hate filled eyes upon Grizgul RockGut the ogre as his hand was stopped by the ogres' massive arms.
“Did noone ever be tellings you itz not nice to be bashin strangers?” Griz accented his point with a smash from his enchanted morning star. The blow sent the demon reeling from the sheer force of it. Griz put his head down and leapt at the dazed demon using his bulk to knock the demon from the hill it landed with a dull click as its spine broke in several places. The second of the generals turned on the new threat and promptly had his legs hewn from under him by Dorgaulds mithral axe. The demon flapped his bat like wings in a desperate attempt to stay up right but the hellish appendages had been damaged by the burst of phoenix fire Ser had unleashed during his swoop. The demon hit the ground with a thud and Dorgaulds axe swung around and sliced cleanly through its horned head.

Ser looked at his friends battling the demons and saw the last of the human children flee past the battle scene well out of harms way. Ser surrounded himself with a firey aura and charged at Belros again they exchanged blows and blocks until Ser grabbed Belros' hands and increased the aura at a uncontrolled rate. “Fool! You will destroy us both for the sake of your precious mortals.” Belros shouted no fear of destruction apparent in his eyes. “I believe the humans have a saying 'If I'm going down I'm taking you with me!” Belros shouted in outrage and a red mist began to grow around the combatants, suddenly the essence of Belatu-Cadros jumped from Belros and into the last of the demon generals who had been knocked off his feet by the heat of the aura. The demons eyes flared a even brighter shade of red and he limped away in the commotion being caused by Sers heat blast. Ser looked around and leapt into the air screaming in pain the aura around him swirled and flickered eventually returning to within him. His firey wings flickered then vanished as he fell to the ground.

Well there John... I'm not much for reading short stories but your character's battle here is rather brutal! I think you have an interesting idea for a character. Are we gonna be able to read another adventure soon? Thanks for visiting my gallery and I was surprised because I don't see many writers over here on Loth! Have a good day! Later!
