| 18 Feb 2008 | Dave Cripps | Loading...Now that’s a great shot! Like the refinery in Alien quietly processing away in the dark night. John R Farley Jr replies: "Thanks, Dave. I like this as one of the best. " | |
| 19 Feb 2008 | Barbara J. Wickham | Loading...That is quite an impressive construction! I find that my eyes are drawn into the details and I begin to imagine the function each piece performs in the ship. There’s just something about intricate machines that I find engaging and my artistic senses find the many patterns and groupings fascinating.
I also love the lighting and how the high contrast light and shadow increases the illusion of immense size. John R Farley Jr replies: "Now that’s a nice compliment, of course I was looking at getting the lights and structures in, but you see more. Even better. "
| 19 Feb 2008 | Saskia H. Suurling | Loading...It looks like a ship but it also looks a bit like some sort of city. I like it. It’s nice to see all the different angles and pictures of this ship. I really like this project but I have said that before...
John R Farley Jr replies: "Thanks, Saskia. Part of the fun of building something like this is seeing how elaborate I can get it. "
| 20 Feb 2008 | Yasa Nihari | Loading...Pretty! So many lights. I bet the actual thing, as a real ship would be just huge, like a city. Sure looks that way! XD John R Farley Jr replies: "The real thing would be about 3,600 feet or about a kilometer long. All these parts would only be in the back and the rest of the ship would be smooth. It’s the same ship that’s in the Ship and Crystals painting. " | |

| 22 Feb 2008 | Norma Peters | Loading...Excellent! The lighting makes it look so authentic - a dramatic night scene from a sci-fi movie. John R Farley Jr replies: "Thanks, Norma. Sometimes the most easy shots become the best pictures. " | |
| 23 Feb 2008 | Anna Mason | Loading...thats just cool... i wanna see what lives in it... John R Farley Jr replies: "Thanks, Anna. Well I think you’d be a little disappointed since humans control and own this ship in my stories. Aliens did help build this part, but they wouldn’t look too different than humans because they would need skillful fingers with the same or better dexterity than humans. Long-fingered aliens would be clumsy. They have a way of dropping parts and tools into those forty-foot wide spinning fans. " | |
| 11 Mar 2008 | Janna Prosvirina | Loading...Cool shot! The best of the series. John R Farley Jr replies: "Thank you Janna, this was the first picture I started with." | |
| 16 Nov 2008 | Dennis James Jonathon Doering -'Quidni' | Loading...I’m not exactly sure what it is... but I like it... I’m actually a bit inspired to give another try at some sculpting. John R Farley Jr replies: "Thanks, Dennis. What you are looking at is a model I built of the stern end of a spacecraft. I write stories, and I thought one day, why not build and photograph a model of this part of the ship, instead of painting and drawing it all the time. It is also designed to move smoke from a fog machine through it. " | |
