Move over Bruce Willis and Conan! Here's a guy who's both die hard and a divine fighter... in a double sense.

With this picture I sort of tag along a project started by Sophia M. Klesen.

I'm REALLY looking for feedback on the artistic quality/value on this one. I'm kind of stuck on pencil, but alot can be done in grayscale and b/w.
Intended concept of the picture:
The picture is supposed to be cold, with a glimpse of both rage and selfcontrol in Michael's eyes. I chose short hair because of how practical it is in combat. Colour of hair, and the shape of the beard is more or less inspired by by image of what people looked like at 'that time and that place', ie some 2000 years ago at the locations in the christian Bible.
Opinions about this idéa is of COURSE welcome too. :)
The sword was supposed to cover half his nose, but it... eh... didn't come out that way. :P
It is faded because I was only going to draw half the face and half the SWORD. However, I kind of like the way the hand turned out so I kept the hand and the right side of the hilt. Should I add the rest of the blade too?
Did I forget anything?

I dont know why, but what I really love about him is his ear. His ear could rule his whole face, you know? Its such..the essence of an ear.. (ok that was my weird comment for the day)

I love it! I think that this really captures who Michael is. And sideburns would look bad. And Hebrew swords were thin, like that. And the hand is in the place that you wanted it, a salute/ready pose.

Okay, Jonas. First thing..is it possible to fall in love with a drawing? aurgh..how embarrassing. Second, I finally have my own gallery. So, please feel free to comment on my stuff. Now, I need to go before I can't leave.

This picture is very pleasing. This character holds the "look in the eye" that I thought was missing from your picture of "Satan." I can see alot of time went to this. The fade in the sword is nice. You could use the sword and hilt as a frame for a few inspired words there in the corner. Keep up the nice work!

Most magnificent. The detailed eye nails it down.

I do love this picture 2 the face is great! and I love the shading on the sword. To me (just personal preference of course so feel free to ignore) the hand looks a bit on the small side, and it's really close up under the crosspiece so it suggests something much smaller than a sword, I think. Maybe widen the blade a smidgen, bring the hand (also a smidgen bigger) down the grip more (maybe even room for a cool insignia or something where the crosspiece meets the grip or slightly lower) The only other thing is that the lower left hand part of the drawing is quite noticably darker than the top right hand part...draws focus to that end a lot more...just a note really, but I think I like this image the best so far

Finish it.

it's a very nice picture... but I think you should work some more on the hair up top... but other than that it is very nice

As its been a while since the first feedback, i'd hope you're done by now, but as it is, i'd say it looks good. Nothing requires erasing. Occasionally step back and/or get a reducing lense and be sure the tonal balance is there and realistic. For example how many times are people ever in front of a pure white background? Darken it. Make the man stand in front of the page, not in it. Cheers.
