Initial sketch of a dark elf maiden waving or signaling... or hailing a taxi? I've done some shading work on this in Photoshop, but it's not far enough along to post. This is a good example of using multiple iterations to improve a picture. I thought the original sketch I did for this (not posted here) was good enough to start shading in Photoshop, but after working with it for a while, things started to bug me. Her stance was very stiff, her hips weren't contributing to her balance, and both of her feet were flat on the ground. I decided to throw out everything and start again with a better idea of what her body would be doing. I ended up with this. I'm still not sure if it's correct, but it's definitely more dynamic than my first sketch was.

The shoes were already comented on so...I wouldnt hold a sword that way if i were her.

:-) Jonathan E. Wright replies: "This is an unfinished picture... she will be wearing boots, which is why the bottoms of her feet have boot heels. As for holding the sword, if you look closely, the sword is in a scabbard (notice the line just above the hilt? That's the top of the scabbard). Also, the point is intentionally rounded because it is the scabbard you're seeing and not the blade."

Um why is she naked?and her face could use some work no offense

Darkest dragon it is a sketch, she is not naked , but in the upgraded drawing she just might be, but that is supposed to be her body figure and the way the shoes will fit around her feet.

to Natalie Adams.. why hide your eyes? (^_^) .. you are born naked, the first people were naked.. animals are naked.. why should humans be afraid of being naked.. I meen I dont walk arround in the streets naked (partly because I would get arrested) but imo there is nothing wrong with it

I also fully agree with Dante

Be Free! Just not in the streets since our society is conditioned to belive that the pure, natural and sensual human (and other) bodies should be covered up.
