The picture would have been awesome is she hadn’t been wearing such see through clothing. Jonathan E. Wright replies: "The woman is Selene (aka Lanfear) and she is drawn as described in a particular scene in the Wheel of Time books. In that scene she is wearing very clingy, translucent clothing because she is attempting to seduce Rand al’Thor. She is evil and in fact, she tends to wear similar clothing much of the time in the books and is supposed to be the most beauftiful woman in the world. In short, she’s wearing that clothing because that’s how she’s described in the book at the time."

| 14 May 2008 | Holly | Loading...Hey! I love your artwork - VERY realistic. I think though, maybe your horses are a bit overmuscled? I shouldn’t critique, I can’t draw for crap, but I’ve ridden for about 10 years now, and no matter how fit a horse is, it’s rump is NEVER so obviously muscled - unless it’s dehydrated haha. It’s a bit more subtle. I don’t know, maybe it’s harder to capture than you’re making it look (cos you make it look easy, lol!). Other than that, a fantastic drawing!! I need to read those books... | |

| 29 Jul 2009 | Emy | Loading...Nice horse and pose but shouldn’t the horse have reins and stuff (don’t know what it’s called in english) since it’s got a saddle? I agree that the horse is too muscled but otherwise it’s really good.
As for Selene/Lanfear her jaw is too prominent and so are the cheekbones, I imagine her more female since she’s the most beautiful woman on earth. Her dress is too transparent, the fabric has something Graendal in it. Anyway it’s really good and you’re very talented.
| 4 Oct 2009 | Elizabeth Lake | Loading...Selene is the Mother Moon Goddess. She does have her dark aspects but in actual mythology she is the lover and bride of the Moon. clingy dress piece yes and maybe. see through yes and maybe. however she is no-where near evil. She is the Mother. She nurtures and cares for her children. She may be depicted as evil in those books but in actual mythology and studies she is not. THE DRAWING IS INCREDICLE but being that I practice Moon Magick, I look up to her for the fact that she cares for her children as she does and that she is not evil | |
| 4 Oct 2009 | Elizabeth Lake | Loading...I do agree with Emy though. It’s a nice piece but yes, her cheekbones and chin are too prominent. Mother Moon Goddess Selene is supposed to be somewhat soft and a loving look about her. | |
