When I read the book, I imagined Shadowfax to be a dappled gray or perhaps a silverdappled horse. In the movie, however, he was almost as shineh white as Gandalf's White outfit.

I liked the concept and made a picture of the movie Shadowfax.

Still like my mental picture of the Silverdapple better though.

:-) Calijn 'Tiamat' de Jong replies: "I always imagined Shadowfax as a rather powerful horse. Like a PRE horse (Pura Raza Espanola - Andalusians) or maybe a Lusitano. Thoug I didn't use reference for this picture, I did draw it with an image of a PRE horse in the back of my head. 12 "

Awesome picture, horses have got to be the least forgiving animal to draw, yet you have done an amazing job with this one. Everything from the way the hooves are, to the movements of the legs and even the highlights of the muscles. It is truly amazing!

Beautiful! reminds me of a picture called dancing in the spray. Georgeous horse.

I love this horse the lighting, the texture *going on and on about what's so good about this picture for two hours*
so anyway i absolutely llllllllloooooooooooovvveeeee this picture *gasping for breath because of such a wonderful pic* keep up the work for my sake

Love it! Totally amazing love everything! I love the contrast, and i loved the style, horses are near impossible to draw but this is perfection! Absolutely amazing

OMD you are such a talented Drawer i wish i could draw horses like that, i can draw them but not as well as that!! I love shadowfax 1 Horses are my fave animal so great job!!
