Ancient Inscription

Evil awakens

Darkness reborn

A beast that stalks freely

And souls are left torn

The first is called

Of elf and of man

Quickness of blade

But alone he can’t stand

A second is summoned

A man of the cloth

His faith holds the key

To finding things lost

A girl with strange power

Now this is the third

Her heart keeps the secret

To break evil’s curse

(Inscription faded here)

Nice!! It flows really nicely, and the word choice is good. ^_^ Oi, pathetic comment... *L* Keep it up! ^_^

Just visiting my shelf neighbour. I really like the first verse of this and got quite excited by the rhyme but then you do not continue it :-( I assume the rhyme in the first part was accidental but great things can come from accidents. It feels older with the rhyme because it gives the poem structure and most old inscriptions and poems do rhyme and do have structure.

There is such a nice rhythm to this. The way that you have written this poem make me want to know more about what is happening, and to know what it's fore-telling.
