The Earth Mother protects her young. Even if she can't hold them close to her heart, they dance and live inside of her from the moment they are born till long after they have died. A poem about Mother Earth.

Snowdrops and daffodils reviving hope for change

Chastity lurks amidst dismay of winter

I rejoice in the splendor of regeneration

And in my delight, I embrace the sun

Lank and wispy

Frisk, frolic, and full of life

The children, cubs and young

Bring my eyes to weep, my lips to smile

Open my heart, flooding in pride

At the highlight of perfection

The golden embrace is returned

And I'm replenished within supreme profusion

Maturing and ripening of a vivacious flow

I forget for a while it is not to last

I close my eyes

And inhale the beauty

Printing it forever in my soul

When I open my eyes

I let it fade

And smile in refractory, covering all in shade and whispers

Colors vivid yet forebode of death

The children, cubs and young will strengthen

At the cradle of winter

On a blanket of excellence

And of matchless, unsurpassed origin going back to eternity

When winter calls

I know I did right

And wait for a new generation

Of snowdrops and daffodils

The rebirth of lank and wispy

Frisk, frolic, and full of life

Children, cubs and young

23 Jan 2003	Emily Grist	Loading... I liked the idea of this... it was really original!!!! I like the flow... a very nice flow actually. Good job, it had some good imagery too! Jorieke 'JoSav' Savelkouls replies: "Thank you. It's actually one of my lesser poems but most I write isn't fantasy so that's the reason this one made it through the final cut Thanks for commenting!"
18 Apr 2003	That one other author guy you talk to	Loading... .... made me think of kids.... The cycle of life and death we think so little about but which is so important to us. This poem had good pattern to it... it was nice. Jorieke 'JoSav' Savelkouls replies: "It's not just kids. It'severything bound by life and death, which truthfully is everything. We're all made of the same matter, even the stars. In a way, we're all the same, we're all bound together."
27 Dec 2003	D Joelle Duran	Loading... Again, I love your imagery. "Frisk, frolic, and full of life" has such delightful alliteration. It's beautiful how the poem ends where it begins--in the spring. Truly a circle of life. Jorieke 'JoSav' Savelkouls replies: "Well, I wanted the circle to be complete. I like creating alliterations that sound natural. I don't always pull that off but I try."
6 Jan 2004	Alice Muffin Girl Smith	Loading... I enjoyed the imagery in this, and the loving feelings of motherly pride that came through. ^_^ I didn’t really care for the big words you used, though. Can’t quite put my finger on why, though I’d say it’s probably because big words are natural stumbling blocks for the tongue, and poems should be anything but stumbling.
