Like I said, I've been known to write poetry... This particular piece is either about girls or vampires. Or both. Take your pick. It may work its way into one of my novels.

Heart's Blood

That fleeting glimpse,
Oh so tempting.
Why is it so?
How many times?
How often am I to suffer?

Tired, I am worn.
Emotionally dead,
I am comforted yet.
Of my heart and soul I gave.
And recieved naught in return.

The force of you drains me.
Caught in what you are,
I am unable to escape.
Bliss and pain mingle,
Fraught with frustration.

I want to be left to myself,
But cannot bring myself to let the pain go.
I revel in the hurt,
For it brings memories of what was,
Thoughts of what will not be.

13 Mar 2001	Michelle A. Whitham	Loading... I really like this one because it draws people to it. Very emotional. I don't know why anyone has commented on this one. I think it's more of vampiric. Lust of life but the haunting pain of their victims comes back. Well done.

23 Aug 2002	Joe	Loading... I don't think it's very good. Amateurish at best. It's obviously about a girl he liked that didn't like him. It's just the usual woe is me "poem" that too many people mistake for poetry these days. Lord knows I did for far too many years. I wrote hundreds of pages of that crap! I feel like Simon on that American All-Stars singing show. I'll give it to you straight, cause I want you to produce quality. If you don't, I won't hold back on my criticism. Of course, I don't have anything up on this site yet, so I suppose I don't really have much of a right to criticize, eh?
