I felt like drawing the stereotypical anatomically-mutated scantily-clad sword-wielding barbarian chick. This is the result. Isn't she great? I bet if she could talk, she'd be doing it in a valley girl accent.

Pencil sketch, scanned, drawn over with my Wacom Of Doooooom, colorized in Paint Shop Pro, again with Wacom of Dooooom. Background done from scratch in PSP. Lighting tweaked in Photoshop. Wardrobe provided by some hapless furry mammal.

hehe well at least you're not even trying to make it out to be something serious ;o) I'll never understand why people think warrior women would be prancing around in little bikinis and holding a sword...Yeah I'm sure that will protect them!

Hehe not only would she have a valleygirl accent, she'd probably break down and cry if she even broke a nail ;o)

Ah well, as a picture as a whole it's good though! Good handling of female anatomy, even if it's perhaps a little too perfect to be realistic ;o) Great pic!

:-) Jenny Rowland replies: "There's always something funny about the people who try to act like bikini armor and too-big-to-lift swords will save warrior chicks from ANYTHING... funny in a different way, of course, from the ones who go with my take on it.And naturally, it's nonrealistically "perfect" on purpose! 12"

She seems too gimpy to carry a sword, let alone use it. But hey, im not one for the stereo typical barbie doll either. Good job on the pic, goin with the stereo type idea

:-) Jenny Rowland replies: "Yep, that was what I was going for! Incapable of properly wielding a sword even if she could manage to lift it high enough."

I still think her chest is too small!

:-) Jenny Rowland replies: "Yes, I know you do. 10 But I rather like it as-is."

Wow. Somebody has an opinion. However, while I don't entirely disagree with you (they CAN be overrated), I think the idea of scantily clad warrior women must go beyond simply eye candy for the men. I see it as, women are more flexible than men, and the minute clothing allows for more freedom of movement. And lets face it, most of the time, men have got more strength to hold all that cumbersome armor better than women. They have the upper body strength, we have the lower body strength. That's the way of things... usually.

And one more thing. I look at these drop dead women who are scantily clad and fighting demons and dragons and you know what I see? I see a woman who is so adept at fighting, that unlike her inferior male counterparts, she doesn't need extra protection. She's that good.

Just some things to think about.

:-) Jenny Rowland replies: "[insanely-belated comment reply]Er, well, yes, I do have an opinion. That opinion more or less boils down to "stereotypes are amusing sometimes". I don't know that I ever said a scantily-clad barbarian chick was an inherently bad thing! There is indeed something to be said for a level of confidence that allows you to jump into battle baring 90% of your flesh, but there's also something to be said for pragmatism. If a warrior woman's absolutely sure that she needs nothing more than her amazing skills to protect her, and she's right 999 times running, then that 1000th time she's sure going to feel silly when she gets stabbed right through the unarmored gut.Of course, by this point my main opinion about the drawing is that the pose and shading are both horrific. Bleh."

You have a nice way of making an annoying part of society a whimsical drawing.
