SciFi and Fantasy Art Purple Mermaid by Jenny Rowland

I kept seeing mermaids while perusing other people's galleries... so I did one of my own. She has a great expression on her face in the original sketch; looking right at the viewer, one eyebrow cocked, plainly thinking to herself 'um... and you expected some skinny thing in the freezing depths of the ocean?' Didn't quite capture that in the final version, but hopefully I came close.

Pencil sketched, painted in OpenCanvas, touched up in Paint Shop Pro.

I like her tail.

I dont think you ruined her expression at all with the coloring. .which is very nice might I add. although she does seem to be missing her left eyebrow. she may not be skinny. . but she is pretty. esp her tail she's probably more streamlined too..... lol very nice
