  | So boy elfie and girl elfie are walking along, and boy elfie remembers that there was this big ol' sword some warrior type had for some reason left in the ground years ago. Seems the young boy elfies have been sneaking off to this clearing for years, challenging each other to try to pick up the insanely heavy sword. And he figures, hey, what better way to show off for his girlfriend than to be the one to finally get the thing out of the ground. Of course, he won't in a million years actually succeed, and she knows that perfectly well. She's content to wait until he tires himself out, and then she can pat him on the head and they can continue on their way. Ahh, love. This is a pencil sketch I scanned a couple years ago now, but I only got down to vectoring the lines and coloring it lately. I also decided that I had way too many white kids in here, and so these two have more of a southwestern vibe going. Mid-brown skin, brightly-colored clothing. They're neat. Coloring on the elfies done via paintbrush tool in Paint Shop Pro; bit more pixellated than what I've been doing lately, but I was going for more of a cel-shaded look than a carefully-blended-colors one. Sword a combination of paintbrushing and various filters. Background another of my photos of Cal State Fullerton's arboretum. |
