May I suggest spending more time with shading & layering with your pencils? The nice thing about plain ol' pencils (my fave medium, too) is their versatility...you can always use an eraser if you need to, and even to get more great shading/highlighting effects!
Reply: Actually the ironic part about this is that in school I used to do a lot of shading work... of course with the result of my arwork ending up looking very dark... which my teachers hated... and over 4-5 years they kinda forced me out of the habit, which is why my work has gotten much lighter in nature... ^.^; Maybe I'll try a few dark pieces again... | |
