You've got a good grasp on anatomy and have a real talent with oils. One question - how long does an average painting take you? Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Hi Jessica, thank you for you're kind words, and to answer you're question, on average I would say six months per painting, although it will depend on how large and the content. If there is lots of bare skin longer, because it requires many layers of paint, background tend to appear one day, I never plan them and they can change suddenly as well. Dressed figures are always painted nude then clothed etc, but I work on three or four paintings at a time to allow for drying times, I also find I will be drawn to working on one intently, then I might not pick it up again for a month.Thanks for stopping by, hope this helps a bit." | |
