His face makes me think of Legolas...

But then, what dosen't?

:-) Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Hi Hekate, I think it must be something in the water, everybody see's Orlando, mind you there are far worse things to be thinking of i'll agree."

Ah, but Legolas (Orlando Bloom) himself was only 6 feet tall... so you painted him even larger on your wall? cool 2

Nice picture also. The colors look very natural 2

:-) Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Hello somebody, Just seemed like a nice round figure, Orlando has a slimmer build as well. I tend to get lost in the back grounds, and love putting in all the little details that make them look like somewhere you would like to go for a walk, thanks for your comments."

He's cute, is he avelable?

14 Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Sorry poison this one is all mine, thanks for stopping bye."
25 Apr 2006:-) Polenth Blake
I think the Orlando comments are due to his nose/eyes, not the body. If you just focus on that part of the face, there is a similarity. But that's not really what I noticed about the picture. I really like the tree, especially the little mossy/bark person near his feet.

1 Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Hi Polenth, thanks for the comments I think you are right about the face. I had fun painting the tree but I think it looks a little flat."
11 Oct 2006:-) Suzanne Collins
He does look an awful lot like Orlando, but that's not a bad thing 2 I love this picture, though I do think the sunset on the right would do very well on it's own as a landscape. The colours are gorgeous the detail is beautiful! He's also very hot 2 and I like his casual pose. The roots are fantastic (you should see my attempt, though I shudder to think what an artist with your talent would make of them!) Anyway, keep it up!

3 Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Hello again, Yes I gave in long ago on the orlando look, I,m working on a new Darrock, hopefully he will look a little less Orlando, still hot and sexy though ;-) "
24 Oct 2006:-) Michelle B. Lackey
Yes! Sunset! I love them and the effect you have with the light and clouds is wonderful! The little waterfall is neat, most either shoot for Niagra. *smiles*
I'm curious about the little guy at his feet, looks like he kind of melted into the bark there. After watching POTC2, kind of wonder if Davy Jones got him too...
*rambling alarm goes off*
Oh yes, and the mighty Orlando-look-alike. Hmmm... Nope, na-ah, doesn't really remind me all that much of him. Maybe the face a little, but Bloom is a little... scrawnier.
*ducks from incoming Bloom-fan-fare tomatoes*
Keep drawing!

1 Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Hi Michelle, sorry it's taken me so long to reply, but we have been having lots of pc problems and I've been offline.I spend a lot of time walking in big woods, and love tree's and stumps and things, The little man is based on a real tree, that has this little guy asleep, and it just crept into the painting, I always start with a plan as far as the main pose, but the backgrounds just sort of appear, so I'm really glad you like it. His body is much stockier than Orlando, I'm working on a new Darrock at the moment, he's a little less Orlando looking(I hope), thanks for stopping by, and leaving a comment. "

WOW!!!!!!!!!! This guy has got muscles, quite big ones 2. I love guys with big muscles! 10 heh...

1 Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Hello, Darrock no2 is on it's way shortly, and I'm glad you appreciate the work, it's so hard, having to spend all that time studying the male muscles etc."
11 Mar 200745 Hurg
Usually guys are supposed to just have a straight body, you know, without the curves that make the butt and chest look bigger. But I say that elves can get away with that kind of thing.

MAN that art is good o_o

1 Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Thank you Hurg, personally I like a few bumps in all the right places, glad you like it, and thank you for leaving a comment."

Just wondering if hes for sale and if i can make a down payment and if your drawing intruements were fine tipped or broad tipped

1 Julia Francis-Dolling replies: "Hello, sorry I didn't reply sooner, having internet problems, so be patient if you don't hear back from me, straight away. I would consider selling the painting, but only for the right price, so make me an offer. You do only buy the painting though, I retain copyright. As for my painting tools, I use mostly small brushes, 0000 most of the time, even these are trimmed down, I only use larger brushes for the initial positioning. e-mail me at judropin@hotmail.com about the picture, and thank you very much for the comments and offer."
