SciFi and Fantasy Art Spread My Wings by Julia Doering

My first try with chalk&coal. This used to be a Mod's Choice before the big crash and there were so many comments I didn't answer immidiatly and that are lost now - I'm so sorry, guys but I read and appreciated each of them!

19 Jun 2005	Will	Loading... Most artists ask for feedback, but when they get something other than "this is the best piece of art in the world!" Other commenters tend to say that that comment has no meaning and yell at it. The colors are lovely though but the arm seems off to me. Julia Doering replies: "Let's just say that everyone has his own opinion about a picture and I appreciate each comment expressing it, encouragements as well as criticism as long as the author can articulate himself in a proper and polite way."

I think its just becuase the elbow (the joint, i dont know what its called) is a little high, I only noticed it tho after will pointed it out. I love the celic design, they are so hard to do, and you do them beautifully. I absolutely love your style fo drawing and I love the shading and the feathers. I just the love the picture, period. KUDOS!!! keep up the good work.
23 Jun 2005	Maredance	Loading... This is awsum! it really is beautiful. Normally, when I try charocoal, it gets all over me and looks messy on paper, but this is so well done. Congrats on the mods choice, you really deserve it!

18 Aug 2007	Anna Snotra Sarwe	Loading... I, as the previous people, think the elbow is too high, but it doesn't disturb the picture in itself. I like the way you made her arm muscular without being bulky like a mans arm (being a swimmer I have noted that the female arm is always a bit rounded, even when very muscular). Nice choice of medium as well.
