Her kingdom lies so far away
A man could walk all his days
And never find where soft clouds stray.
Such is the land of the Sky Queen.

Her company will swiftly fly
To gather cobwebs from the sky,
Unseen by any mortal eye.
Such is the life of the Sky Queen.

Her garments are brighter than the sun,
And her beauty continues when the day is done,
But to appreciate her there is no one.
Such is the beauty of the Sky Queen.

Alone within walls that act like chains,
So long alone she has forgotten her name;
While the world moves on she alone is the same.
Such is the fate of the Sky Queen.

No one has commented on this yet? Wow. At first, I thought it was ok but then something drew me back to it and I think it was the expression on the girl's face and the cobwebs. I don't know why. It looks awesome. Good job. *first comment dance then......falls over*

Very dramatic and pretty! I like the colours and how the paints all splotchy, and the idea too.

:-) Julianne Dodds replies: "It was inspired by a nursery rhyme. A girl who did the entire nursery rhyme got mod's choice a few days ago..."

Okay, my last comment, then I REALLY need to get some work done.

I think you've done more technically interesting stuff. But I like this one best. It's just beautiful: very haunting and sad, and there's nothing there that doesn't seem to belong. I especially love your work in shadows and lights: they seem to suggest her inner luminescence, almost like it's answering to the stars and lights. I like the feeling that surrounding sadness more perfectly reveals her. Thanks for this one.

:-) Julianne Dodds replies: "I need to get a new scan of this one. It's also one of my favorites; it was a real stretch for me to achieve my vision. I think I've succeeded, and thus, this one stays. The ones that don't turn out so well line birdcages."
