SciFi and Fantasy Art Solstice Fire: preliminary by Julie Thompson

A comment was left with the finished 'Solstice Fire' piece that perhaps it would have been better without the cgi background. Here is the original coloured pencil drawing, before any background was added. Of course the colour pallette is dark and slightly muted, because the intention was to put her in a night scene. At least with this copy, you can see a little more of the detail, though my scanner has taken away much of the detail from the original piece.

I did that when I was first learning Photoshop, and it is hideous. I leave it in place though, to show how sucky it is and to use as a gauge to show that I am (hopefully) improving."

14 Nov 2004	Elisabeth Venov Schroeder	Loading... I most cetaintly like this version better than the digitally altered one... In the other one there seemed to be too great contrast between the two, used styles.. If you know where I'm going. Anyway... This one is great. Very dynamic.
