“There is--there is one thing more.” 36 x 24, Oil on canvas ©2000 Justin Kunz. All rights reserved. This painting is based on 'The Black Cauldron' by Lloyd Alexander (New York, Dell 1965), the second of the Chronicles of Prydain. This is a pivotal scene when Taran offers his enchanted brooch in exchange for the Black Chrochan. I've seen that movie in cartoon version. i think it was from Disney. Good job on the painting. I'm not good with paint. I would prove it but the work is at school and nowhere near done.

I think this may be my favourite piece of Prydain fanart - it is stunning. What especially intrigues me is the composition whereby the Crochan and Orgoch's robe merge into one black pit into which Taran is seemingly staring.

The colours are pretty well put together, as are the expressions. The image tells a story.
Oil paint is an excellent medium for 3d-ness I find. Good job.

Wow! Your Prydain art should be with others I’ve found on DeviantArt in a special hardcover illustrated edition series! This is fantastic!

I notice that Fflewddur resembles Lloyd Alexander. I hope that’s by design. 2
