O_o Mysterious. I really like the subject y'know. I like the weirdness in this pic, so I won't ask what the green is ^_____^ Good job.

:-) Janne Vuollet replies: "Good, cause I really can't find an explanation 9 It's weird and thats it."

A poisonous girl. It looks somehow very scary.. And she has a really pretty dress, so perfectly blue!

:-) Janne Vuollet replies: "Oh, thou hath no idea how the blue looks in reality... The scan messed it up 8/ Is it just me or can any scanner get blue colours right? There are two different kind of blues in her dress. Actually four, but lets not pay too much attention to that 9"

You have a good future with watercolors 2 I like the darkness of this one; your ideas are definitely very interesting: your pictures have lots of variation (unlike "certain someone" who's highly predictable 12. Great work!

:-) Janne Vuollet replies: "Well, lets hope so, I'm getting more and more into using watercolors. Actually this wasn't my idea, though this looks quite different than the one I saw... somewhere... can't remmember 8/ most propably it was somewhere here at elfwood. anyhoo, thanks for the comment"

Drow?
That's fabulous, the color of the dress. Hmm. Actually best parts are the stars and the ground. How do you do that with black? looks good.

:-) Janne Vuollet replies: "Yeah, I thought that that kind of black was impossible to make with watercolours, but what do you know, it really worked. The stars were kind of a test of mixing my own color from black and red and making that glow in the darknes efect. I never had done that before."

Well, I still like this one ^__^ Colours are gweat and I'd love to see some bleeding stars. Where can I find them?

:-) Janne Vuollet replies: "You can't find them. Someday they will come to you."

the black is very nice. I like where it is mixed with red. *Huh*--My art professors trained me not to use black because the impressionists said it muddies the colors...Sometimes I can't help it!

:-) Janne Vuollet replies: "pssst! Do you want to hear a... well, a notsobig secret? You can mix black into other colors! I do that a lot nowadays. And mix other colors too to get allsorts of nice shades. It doesn't really matter what the impressionists have said... not to me anyways."

What is all this about 'muddy colors'? - muddy colors are earth tones and very useful - using the same brush for both the warm and cool ends of the spectrum resaults is some unintended muddiness that may be difficult to control - black just makes dark last i checked - obviously they must have been refering to some sort of subjective effect rather then a litteral one i can only guess - there is a bit of muddiness of form - i'm guessing this is at least partialy an intentional ambiguity. the pools of green are intreguiging - the hot lights may be visitors or indications of them - the forground suggests some sort of ritual - the figure seems uncertain of her own intent ... or to be relying on something other then clearity of understanding ... there are energies here - not neccessarily malign - but beyond her true understanding - that is the feeling this gives me anyway ... ~12

:-) Janne Vuollet replies: "Well, I would propably say that the color becomes "dirty" rather than muddy. At least if I translate it from finnish anyways. I have kinda seen the stars as sorrow or pain. And the red lines on the floor as blood. The green clouds... I... don't know what they are. It was merealy a test and I've been thinking of retouching them. Make them more like I wanted them to be in the beginning."
