| 9 Mar 2004 | StreamGozer | Loading...I like the small size of the dragon. So that it's not the first eye-catcher of this painting and the blue stripes in the sky remind me of those I saw last week in the REAL sky. But something about that rock I'm not too happy about. It just looks weird. I'm not sure if you intended, but there seem to be some kinds of layers there on top of each other. On the rock, I mean, but they're not well visualized. And if I cross my eyes in the right way, it looks like the rock (mountain/whatever) is actually closer than the dragon. But that can't be. Can it? It sure could have used some more detail. Not just on the dragon, which by the way looks nice as usual. Although it reminds me of somekinda mixed breed of a dog and a cat, but that's just me. Janne Vuollet replies: "Yeah, well, you know, the picture ain't meant to be looked with eyes crossed. That always makes me think of those 3d-pictures you have to look in certain way to make the pictures come out.I myself think that the cliff is quite good. I didn't really think that I'd give it much texture of anykind. But the thing with watercolors is that you can easily do that kind of layered strokes. And I really did this one quite fast. Thinking wasn't an option." | |
| 16 Jan 2005 | Twisted*Pyro | Loading...^^;; Aww... Dragons are so cute and cuddly! *gets flamed by one* -.-* Sometimes... I love this one... The sky just like, grabbed my attention as soon as I looked at it and then the dragon. I like the contrast of the dragon to the rest of it... The bright green and purpely stands out so well! *its 1 am, my vocab is limited ^^* lol... Great work! | |
