  | Here’s what all of you have been waiting for.…RAG!!! This bizarre picture is actually an illustration for a very interesting storybook I wrote called ‘My Dearest Jules, You Were the First’. I don’t know what you could call it…it was actually just an interesting little thing I did on character analysis, trying to develop two different characters without any physical description, but rather entirely through the letters they wrote to each other (mostly what one writes to the other). It gave you some very interesting images of what the characters looked like—all you could tell for sure was that one of them wasn’t a person, yet was rather childlike. A bizarre, creepy, mysterious child. That’s RAG! The other one was just some vague figure that RAG mourned for, wrote to, and hoped for a reply from. Someone who taught him what it meant to come out of the dark. It wasn’t supposed to really become anything, but the little story became a great hit with everyone who read it. I did a little illustration of RAG before I actually wrote the story, and it kind of evolved from the picture. I reversioned RAG and colored him, and now I’m posting him here, for the first time ever on the ‘net. WOOH! Yes, he’s a bizarre little patchy-creature-marionette-doll-animal thing. I feel that anyone who read the story and also sees this will not see what they expected RAG to look like. So, here’s RAG, sitting at his chestnut table in the Dangerous Room, writing a letter to his darling Jules, one that perhaps he will slip under the constantly-locked door of the Dangerous Room, only to be eaten up by the dark as he fears it will be…I will try to find somewhere to post ‘My Dearest Jules, You Were the First’ where it can retain its interesting format, or perhaps I will publish it (finally!) into a storybook, and you can read it from there. My unending thanks to everyone who read and enjoyed the story, and all who wrote letters to RAG (I got several in the mail). You are an inspiration to me. Ah, and how can I forget? This picture is dedicated with affection to the main inspiration of this book, Jules, who at the time of my typing this has not had a chance to read the story she sparked. You are my life and my light, My Dearest Jules, and I am just a humble RAG. I love you always. ~Kaikisuka |
