Author’s note: All of these characters are my original characters, I have full claim on all of them, any connection they might seem to have with a show, movie book or other media is a coincidence.

Lauriannun whistled as she skillfully tossed her new dagger up and down, each time catching it by it’s handle. She looked at her dagger with a pleased smile, it had a stone blade that was unbelievably sharp, just a few months ago Lauriannun would have been foolish to play a game of tossing it, but as is was she had learned how to throw and catch them just right. The blade also had craved drawings on them, they did not make that much sense to Lauriannun who had never had a education in those areas, but she loved to look at them and think of the mystery behind them. She looked at the green handle, it seemed to her that it was a different shade of green depending on how you look at it, and she tossed it into the air once more watching the different colors.

“I think this is the best thing I have stolen yet!”

Lauriannun said smiling, awarding herself for her new object by saying the same thing she says whenever she is pleased with a new item. She stopped when she heard the sound of a small harp. Lauriannun quickly followed to where she had heard the noise from and found a halfling sitting and playing a miniature harp. The halfling smiled at Lauriannun but continued to play her song. When the halfling started to sing, Lauriannun became inspired and started tossing her dagger up and doing tricks in time with the song. When the halfing stopped she applauded Lauriannun and Lauriannun did the same for her.

“Who are you?” Asked Lauriannun. She had noticed the bag of food near the halfling and was eager to get a chance to steal some once she got the halfling’s trust. She had been to distracted by her dagger and had forgotten to steal food at the last town.

“Me? My name is Raug! And your is?”

       “Lauriannun.”

Raug whistled “Wow long name, do you have a nickname? Lauriannun laughed at this, she had many nick names, thief, crook, no good elf.

“You may call me whatever you wish!”

       “Is Lauri okay?”

Lauri smiled “I said whatever you wish.” She glanced at the fading sun and took her chance, now spinning lies came natural to her. “I was wondering, may I stay at your campsite tonight? I am new in this area, and although everyone tells me it is safe I fear it might not be I think it would be a comfort it someone else was near, and I would not have to face a battle by myself it one came up.” Lauri smiled inwardly, she knew perfectly well this area was safe.

Raug laughed, “I do not mind if you stay at this campsite but these woods are safe!”

Lauri smiled “Thank you!” She gave a fake yawn “Excuse me I am rather tired and desire to go to sleep now.”

Raug nodded “Good night I think I will go to sleep also.” She laid down and stared into the sky singing little peaceful songs.

Once Lauri had noted that Raug was quiet she stood up and crept over to the food bags. She pulled them open and began to reach in.

“I was wondering what you were planning on doing, you didn’t seem like a foreigner so tell me what was your plan about my food? Stealing, poisoning or destroying? I have had all you know.”

Lauri whirled around to find Raug smiling at her, she glared at Raug “I DO NOT POSION ANYONE! Nor would I waste food.”

Raug nodded “Then you wanted to steal some, go ahead take some I do not mind.”

Lauri grabbed a apple and bit into it “Who would want to poison a halfling anyway?”

Raug laughed, “What you can not tell me you did not notice? Or is it you just do not know?”

Lauri shrugged “See what? Know what?”

Raug grinned, “What I look like, I bet you did not. You were too busy thinking about food.”  Lauri studied Raug closely; her keen elven eyes were able to catch what the halfling looked like in the starlight, her eyes widened in shock.

“You have purple eyes?? And silver hair? I have never heard of purple eyes before nor of silver hair on a halfling!”

Raug chuckled “Yeah that would be me, so what are you going to do now? Curse me, Ran away from me or attack me?”

Lauri looked surprised “I do not plan on dong anything like that.”

Raug squealed happily “Oh a new one! This should be exciting!”

Lauri shook her head “I am not going to do anything, a common thief like me can not take the chance of making enemy’s our main goal is making friends, you know so we have hook-up’s later and so we can avoid getting reported.” Her eyes widened as something else hit her “Raug…..does that not mean demon?”

Raug nodded “Sure! I was a nasty shock when my parents first saw me!”

Lauri shook her head “What a cruel joke, what should I call you?”

       Raug smiled “Raug of course!”

Lauri looked surprised “You can not seriously want me to call you that?”

Raug shrugged “Why not it is my name!”

Lauri started to speak but stopped herself “Oh what does it matter, I will leave in the morning, speaking of which I do want to rest!”

       Raug smiled “Goodnight!”

Lauri yawned “Goodnight.” She then laid down and fell asleep.

Author’s note: Ack I think I could have done a lot better with this then I did, oh well as I go farther on hopefully my stories will be better quality!”

Ummm... Interesting. You might want to check your grammar in a few places. It's a great start but what happens?
