| 1 May 2003 | Jessica 'Vestaka' Douglas | Loading...ah another mythology fan. Youknow, what I usually do is draw out a background (and nothing but a background) on a seperate piece of paper... once I have what I like, I place the front image (done on tracing paper so I can see through it) over the top of the background image. Then I move it around untill I like where it is, then I place it on either my light table, or tape it to my window if there's something else on my light table, and place a clean sheet of paper over it. Then trace both the background and front image onto the paper, excluding all of the faults and smudges and scratchy lines.
Some times it helps to get the front image out of your head while you are trying to do the background. Since you work so much in mythology, try looking up descriptions of the setting of the mythology. Hope that helps you some. Love your work, good job, you'll go far!

| 13 May 2003 | H. Ching | Loading...Good attempt at shading. I would add some more contrast though. A few of your pictures don't seem finished, thought they did have a good start. Keep it up! | |

I love the egyptian one with the cat... beautiful detail. >^.^< I hope you can finish these pic's before starting new ones, I think you will be alot happier with them. They are so lovely...but they are like reading an excellent story just to find out someone's taken out the last chapter. It can be enough to drive a person nuts. (for those that aren't already there ) The only other thought I have is on some of the faces... great detail, just a bit dark. 'Least that's the way I see it, compared to the rest of the picture. Could be just me though! I can't wait to see more!! Keep up the excellent work!!!!

First, your shading and details are amazing! Your poses and eye for anaomty kick butt! It's so great to see a fellow pencil addict like you, it's quite a refreshing thing to see b/w work. I think you have a lot of wonderful talent, and I will be checking back soon!

| 18 Nov 2005 | Kalaina (also) | Loading...I find your work very interesting. I find it even more interesting that we have the same fist name and like the same kind of art. I'm a student in NY. State and I currently have taken Latin for the last 4 years. I can definitely relate these works to mythological stories and personally find them to be unique, inspired depictions and representations. I hope you will continue to create many more and hopefully once I'm done with school; I'll be able to afford to buy one perhaps. | |
