It's named that because that is precisely what I was thinking of when creating this picture, what with the red and black and demonic eyes and all. It has HIGHLIGHTS! WOW! First time I tried that =). I think it turned out rather well, cept for the anatomy. Prismacolors. Done for a good friend, Pooja.

Have the highlights distributed throughout the hair. THis way it looks like light is shining off of it. The horse looks rather thin. But the blue horn and hooves are very original and add good contrast to the whole effect. But there's hair coming out of random places!

12 Aideen Solasta replies: "Oh right, I suck at highlights =). Practicing! But those are feathers, silly. I was in a hair mood =P."

As a matter of fact I HAVE to disagree--they are very good highlights, especially for the--first?--time. And how are there feathers? I see feathers nowhere!!!

12 Aideen Solasta replies: "Err, the like, hair part of the hooves/legs on a horse is called the feathers."

O my god it's gorgeous.

Isn't it funny that the one detail (highlights, for example) that you don't like actually turns out to be the part that everyone else loves? For a first try, I am very impressed with how it turned out. A very beautiful unicorn; he should meet my Taj Pooka sometime!

13 Aideen Solasta replies: "Yes! That happens all the time - the things I don't like, everyone else happens to like. =P. Hmm, maybe he should! Hehe. Thank you for the compliments =)."

I think the head is a little too large for the rest of the body. However, I absolutely love the hair and the colouring that you've done! This picture has a nice elegant flow to it. well done!

13 Aideen Solasta replies: "Hmm, you're right. I didn't notice that at the time. Thanks for pointing it out! I'm glad you like the hair and coloring - that took a while =). Thanks for commenting!"

The coloring is awesome! You need to work more on your proportions, the front legs are usually shorter than the hind legs on most horses. You might even take a ruler and measure some pictures, not other drawings, but real pictures of horses to see how they work. Other than that, great job, and love the highlighting in the hair!

12 Aideen Solasta replies: "Thanks =). Yeah, on this horse the front legs are really really really really extra superlong. Measuring other pictures, that's a good idea! Thanks for the suggestions, and for commenting =D. "

All that hair is beautiful! It's so silky looking and shiny. You did a great first job with the highlights, the first time I tried that it DID NOT work out well. I love the colors too, pretty much the only time I like the color red is when it's against black... and then I just can't get enough of it.
Hmm... yeah, the anatomy is off a bit; his body looks kind of long, or maybe the front legs should be back a little bit.

1 Aideen Solasta replies: "*dances around* *is proud of them highlights* Heehee, thank you! Red/black are two of my favorite colors; I love how they look together, so evil and the like. Yeah, the anatomy is sorta uhm, strange...ehehehe. The front legs are probably elongated, and it looks like we stuck him on the rack. Woops. Poor thing =(. Thanks for commenting!"
