This is my first attempt at weaponry and the like. Scimitars are fun =). Yes, I know that the hilts are WAY too short. It's supposed to be mirror-image, but it's not perfect. Inspired by R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt's twin scimitars, though these look nothing like his. Mechanical pencil.

No, only about... Let's see, the hilts are 1/7 the size I would use, but if you want we could say 8... So then if you do the same with the blade length, it ends up about... Hmmmm... 46 inches using thumbs... So if you think about it, they're probably only about 3'5" or so. : ) If you have small hands.

22 Aideen Solasta replies: "Yeah only about 2/3 of your size...how would one sheath it? =P"

Or I'd just wear the sheaths normally but lift them really high. What about Aragorn's sword in the third movie? He didn't have too much trouble, and that thing was about eight feet long. So!

1 Aideen Solasta replies: "It was not! It was about half his size, and it was elven-crafted, so thus it was really light. Right? I think so, at least..."

Well... Hmm... That's a little tricky... Perhaps I could wear the sheaths really low... Or, I've got it! They could fit across my back, diagonal and kind of low, and I'd just practice a lot. Or maybe the sheaths would just be in my backpack and I would carry them freely or put them totally away and hope for no emergencies!

11 Aideen Solasta replies: "That could be a problem...in Fantasyland there are monsters lurking, remember? 12. Maybe you should try it."

Well, it originally belonged to the King of Gondor, so I don't think it was made by elves. Gondor tends to be self-sufficient, as I recall... But yeah, I suppose he was a LOT taller than I am... And a ranger, so probably a gajillion times stronger. *sigh*

2 Aideen Solasta replies: "Oh, Gondor...I knew that. Heehee. Yeah, Aragorn is strong, so. "

You know, I don't think you are talking about normal people, as you said earlier. Drizzt is far from ordinary, even for a drow. I see what you mean about the huge blades, but I still like them, so there!

1 Aideen Solasta replies: "True, no normal people. And they are enormous! I'm probably gonna do some other weaponry picture someday...AFTER I finish coloring my zillion sketches. Heehee. Too lazy to finish work these days. Especially with all the physics tests *glare*. Thanks, though!"

Definitely do some more of this, because it's really great, and your fans (especially "rachel") will love it.

1 Aideen Solasta replies: "Laugh. *peers at Rachel* She's a real life friend who has too much time =). I've been wanting to do this type of thing again, but I always run out of ideas in this topic. With horses, I could have millions of poses and all that, but with swords...nothing seems...well, creative. Thank you, though! =)"

WOW!!! Excellent work, I love it! This drawing really inspired me to draw but unfortunately I'm incredibly lazy! lol! Keep up the good work and this is really great!!! I love all your work and I had to make a comment on this one because it's spectacular!!! =) A great realistic look (even though it's probably not to the right proportions but that's alright!) NiCe! Good use of shading to make it really stand out!!!!!!!

1 Aideen Solasta replies: "*smile* Glad I inspired something! Don't be lazy, it's unhealthy for you! (I am a hypocrite) Thank you very much for the compliments! =) "

Actually I just redid the calculations, and they're barely over 3 feet... If they're designed with my hand-size in mind. Of course, if they use a larger hand size, then they're bigger, but then the wielder is bigger, so it doesn't matter. If you used one at a time... two-handed... OK, fairly impractical, but I think they could be used. If you were strong and desperate. : ) Anonymous: Well said! Keep encouraging Kanjun to draw more! Wow, I feel famous... People are commenting about me... 2 How special. Why aren't swords creative, Kanjun? Are they in too fixed a shape, or what? You're very good at creative weaponry, IMHO. No, not IMHO, IMNSHO.

1 Aideen Solasta replies: "Nods, famous! Yeah, I'm actually drawing another dagger-like thing at the moment. Been so lazy this summer, though...ehehe. I just noticed that I haven't updated in months. Woops, maybe I should start. Yeah, they're impratical, but oh well! It's uhm...for uh...strong...people...right. Of course. I take back the earlier comment about weapons being creative. It's fun. =)."

Cool blades and stuff. The hilt is kinda short... my wrist would probably hurt trying to swing that thing around. lol. any idea what those symbols mean?

-Stephen

1 Aideen Solasta replies: "Thank you =). Yeah, the hilt is short...you'd have some trouble swinging those things =). The symbols mean nothing. I was bored and the scimitars looked too empty. Thanks for commenting!"
