SciFi & Fantasy Artwork by Karen-Birgitte "Ellemerr" Borud

Karen-Birgitte appears to be quite dead. Occationally, however, she might ressurect one of her various masked selves to wreck havoc in the form of insanity and/or green goo on random objects and/or persons.

So, what are you up to today, eh? Tricking me into a false sense of security and then murder me in my sleep or selling me to a troll? Is that it? Or maybe you’re just hugging me to get your hand into my backpocket and steal my wallet! Or, this is a distraction for your minions to paint my gallery blue again!

Eh... Failed the paranoia check. *nods*
*hugs back*"

"Been reading again, have we? -- now there’s a nasty habit. Wrecks the memory, you know..."

I think that would explain my own horrible memory. What about yours? >.<

Also, I think I’m addicted to the thing. o_O The randomness, followed by the semi-coherent, essentially ramblings...
But it said there were four. Only Emily St. Cloud has really solidified for me thus far... sure, there’ve been snippets of the others, but... *sigh*
Or am I missing the point again?

:-) Karen-Birgitte "Ellemerr" Borud replies: "Oh yes. Reading and thinking. I finished one really good book this morning, though... "How to live lazy and happily in a world like ours." If I just listened to the thruts listed in that book, my memory’d be safe. My job wouldn’t, though. But I think that was kind of the point.

Eh, no matter.

I need to talk to you on that matter. I’m writing an exam on the topic (well, kind of) and figured it would be good if I’d finished it before I finished the exam.

But I think I may be missing a link. >.>"

Huzzah. ^^"

I think you were dueling the comment system. Or some sort of art substance. Or something. Frankly, I cannot remember either.

Ah, so you have actually gotten something out of annotating... this is good. Unfortunately, all our books tend to be really depressing recent ´deep´ ones... they just do not seem very deep, though. Like the authors were trying to look smart, but not even really trying. o_O
Though I suppose that is not all of them, just the current bunch of books...

Rogue is the really old one that is too old for SATA (the current standard, I think... anyway, that is what I got for the new one) drives that used to run FreeBSD but now has Kubuntu... basically, itś the stable server-sort that is really slow and in current configuration cannot even run GW, for some reason. I mean, yes, it is old, but it used to run quite a few native games under FreeBSD...

Moose is the laptop that has had various problems, most caused by the crappy operating system, a few caused by the cheap parts. It runs Windows Vista, and vista is what caused the sound to fail that one time. Or those times. Did it happen more than once? I cannot remember...
Anyway, it is now dead, condemned to the depths, buried in styrofoam and shall be shortly shipped to HP (Hewlett-Packard, the company that manufactured it) for servicing and memory shoving in so that it will actually boot again. >.>

(Lucifer, Fork, Derehi?) Whatever I end up naming it once it has an operating system will have an operating system, perhaps Xubuntu. (basically the same as Kubuntu, just comes with a few different programs) Unfortunately, I forgot a couple of very important parts... one, a monitor (d´oh) and two, SATA power cables. Basically, to get power to the drives. So I can have a dvd drive and hard drive., which are slightly imperative for actually starting it up for anything more than the BIOS.
Of course, I was able to get to the BIOS, so at very least, I know the parts I got work together; the entire thing does seem to work. Except there is apparently the very real chance that my apparently fairly high-end (for the really small price I paid, anyway) videocard, while supposedly wondrous for games on windows, will not actually work with Linux. (Kubuntu and Xubuntu are versions of linux). This would, naturally, be bad.

But. o_O At least all the really expensive parts seem to work, though the memory did arrive half falling out of its apparently torn package... (or did someone tamper with it? *paranoid*)

Well, that is my computer situation as of the 20th of March...

That, and Rogue´s keyboard has the wrong format, with no proper apostrophe implementation, apparently... but I should be able to fix that. I just... have not. >.>

Ooo, creation.
I shall send you the next stage of my current idiosyncrasy, too. Mine ain´t coloured or shaded either! Huzzah.

Somehow, the firefox spellchecker is also set to non-American English, too. Not that I mind, since I seem to be more used to that, anyway, but I do have to wonder how that happened...

Book... oh, wait, that was a good book. White Noise. If you have not yet, you should read it. It is truly hilarious. And random. o_O

20 Mar 2009:-) Kim Schoonover (Darth Maulīs scary sister)

Good fail, since there was no ulterior motive... this time, at least. ^^
But yes, fear the hugs of Kim!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Ooo, how-to books, eh? Try ´How to Make Yourself Miserable.´ Now that one is good. ^^

I am missing links too. o.o Just mention that things go overlooked in regards to links not being found, or something. o_O (That is what I would do, anyway. Damn, not using contractions is annoying. O_o)

Huzzzah.

There *are* four of them.

Emily St. Cloud. She is dead. A memory, wanted to be a five-by-five dragonfly, but things went otherwise...
The man in the library. He has been condemned. Doesn’t recall the curse, though. Or was that him?
The nineteen stone comic. One who drempt of flying, if you could call that flying, if you could call that dreaming... despite all that happened. He attempts attempts a funny...
And then there is the monospace, the explanation, the mapping it all... or something.

They are denoted by their colors, green for the comic, red for the monospace, grey for the library, blue for the film director.
They even have their own fonts, according to rogue. (this machine seems not to have the fonts, so three of them show up the same)(and why rogue would have more fonts is beyond me)

Look at the usemap at the beginning.
The usemap is four diamonds, arranged in a square, linking to beginnings of each.

Funny how it’s always four... there are four options at the start, as well, it goes to four dots, four of them in the library...

I think the major objects in the panorama are the labels at the side, geode, egg stone, pavillion... and they certainly are linked, in that they show up in various forms betwee the voices. (Emily’s cone is white, the man in the library, his is black... they all seem to have a pavillion...)

Of course, that’s just a guess since I haven’t actually seen any of quicktime thingies.

heyy...your piccies are great...are they from your imaginary world - Hej? thats so cool...well gotta go but your work rocks... 2 XD

:-) Karen-Birgitte "Ellemerr" Borud replies: "Well, um, thank you. And nah, most of them are just... random... *shifty eyes* Illustrating stories is hard to me because my images of the characters are stronger than my painting skill. >.>"
28 Apr 2009:-) Dave Cripps
Time eludes us all and so I must say that I will be back to drop random nonsense all over your gallery.

Even though the layout still offends me. Giant Advert! And the also by part?

*Grabs frozen Pollock and starts off to Sweden... or is it Norway?*

:-) Karen-Birgitte "Ellemerr" Borud replies: "Yay! I’m fond of random nonsense. It’s tasty, all delicious and moist! When talking about time, I think he ran in that direction *points*. Chasing a teacup and being chased by a bunny, I might add. I’m only hoping he’ll return ’til dinnertime, ’cos I know how much he loves my quiche, even though I probably keep spelling it wrong.

What, this? I think it’s Norway. Sweeden is next-door. Thomas A. lives there. I wonder if he’ll allow people to upgrade galleries again soon? Not that I really have much to update with... And the layout is a bit... odd. Yes. It’s green though, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much.

Right. I’ll be seeing you, then.
*strolls off, whisteling on "We’re off to see the wizard", with a giant silverware salad spork in one hand and a burning teabag in the other*"

Boo!

And such.

Yeah.

:-) Karen-Birgitte "Ellemerr" Borud replies: "Oh, hello Kim.

I’m really tired today. I can’t quite remember the last time I felt as soggy as this. It’s rather weird, really. And it’s not like I’m ill or anything like that, either. I just feel like a big lupm of mustard-coloured-ish goo.

I have comments lying here that are old as the hills and still unanswered. I feel a little bit ashamed off them, but I never feel like doing anything about them either. Also, this place needs a serious clean-up, but I never seem to get around to that, either.

And I really want to delete my "Other Works" thingy, because honestly. I’m feeling kind of betrayed by Elfwood because of them adding it at all.

But I’m not going to do anything about any of this, I think. I’m just going to sit put and feel mustardy. >.>

A pity Elfy doesn’t have a mustard colour option for the text... "
