| I'm embarrased to say where the inspiration for this poem came from (a sensationalist news story. 'Nuff said.) But, I am quite pleased with this fantasy poem. It may seem a little trite, and sing-songy, but I think it is an interesting little play on words. |

The Castle gate was broken.
The Sorceress took no token
To mark her intrepidation.
My Darling, were you frightened?
While the Prince is away,
The mice will play.
While the Prince is away,
Witches will prey.
Alas, I cannot protect you,
From my Ocean Realm.
I cannot undo
Their devious spells.
While the Prince is away,
The witches will prey.
While the Prince is away,
The Mermaid will pray,
"Lord, Let him have peace."
