Specs for a Talonraker; an unmanned space combat vehicle, or fighter drone, of the Strige Shadowfleet, which are often carried in large numbers by all of the large ships. Unmanned drones are nothing new in sci-fi or in real life, because of their obvious advantages over craft with a pilot onboard, except perhaps for the weapon used by these craft.

Basically a scaled down version of what the 30km shadow cruisers have, seen the pic 'Cold Fire. Mono Fibre/fillament nets- atom thin strands of allined molecules which can cut through just about anything, from dense armour to energy shielding with little resistance, these invisible and virtually undetectable nets literatly shred enemy targets. However unlike the shadow cruiser they can't launch their MF nets, instead they use them by 'raking' them along their sides- flying as close to the hulls of their targets as they can get -

These ships can be remotely controlled by pilots on the carrier ship, or using their own onboard AI computer.

RPV’s are the wave of the future, so this is very current if not, not too far off. We already have the Predator and Global Hawk RPV’s, so something like this is entirely plausible. Nice job on the schematics.

:-) Kimberly A Taylor replies: "yes, i’ve been looking at them recently, and i must say that they’re pretty cool, esp some of the new ones being developed, i think that Britain is currently develping the BAE Taranis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BAE_Taranis
theres a link,
a very cool stealthy looking one. Hehe, names again...i was looking through the lists of ucavs also because i wanted to choose a name that hadn’t already been used-most of all the good ones had been taken. "

The Taranis is a cool design. They’ve been working on stealth concepts since the early 1960’s. The Eurofighter isn’t a bad-looking aircraft either, but nothing like the Spitfire.

:-) Kimberly A Taylor replies: "and they’ll most likely continue too, as methods of detection changes and advances. the spitfire certainly looks pretty nifty, and it has certainly earned its place as being one of the best, maybe the eurofighter or any of the newer planes will do ...someday-but for the right reasons.
