| 10 Mar 2011 | Meggen GlacierDragon Morrison Poley | Loading...Oh, I think I saw the original design of this creature aaaages ago in your gallery, but by the looks of things you deleted it?
Needless to say I recognised it immediately in the mods choice section, congrats on the award C:
I like the changes you made, before it looked very Scrab-like so this new design is much more original (and therefore more interesting). Looks great <3
The species information is obviously very thought out and detailed, and I like the way the info sheet itself has been laid out.
Only constructive crit I can think of is the name, Vykar is still very reminiscent of Vykker (of course I’m assuming you’ve played the Oddworld games, unless I’m getting you confused with someone else I remember you saying before that this creature was inspired by them lol). Of course this point is pretty insignificant apart from making the creature more original and unique XD
Anyway, yeah, congrats again on the mods choice Kimberly A Taylor replies: "yep i think that you did, though i’ only know of the first two, and played the first one; i didn’t know there were also creatures of a similar name; if the names too similar i can certainly change it-lol, i always seem to get this problem when it comes to chosing names for space ships-most of the time i find that all the good ones are already taken!
but yeah, generally i thought the same -so i hope this is better now; thanks anyway, "
| 11 Mar 2011 | Connie Lynne Hastings | Loading...hmmm looks like a cross between a horse and a mantis, incredibly well designed i truly love this Kimberly A Taylor replies: "thanks, yeah a preying mantis was what i had in mind, though i didn’t think of a horse, but now u mention it, that too." | |
| 11 Mar 2011 | John R Farley Jr | Loading...I read the blurp. Hey, if you’re going to put that much work into it and make it seem plausible. Great job on this one and congratulations on a Mod’s Choice. Kimberly A Taylor replies: "thanks-thinking up the descriptions is the hardest part, esp trying to make it perhaps plausible, but alien at the same time, as such i ended up making a number of changes anatomically from the original-i’m also going to change the name to a Theronex, as i think as glacier dragon has said it’s quite similar to something else, so i’d rather have something different. Though as i got a mods pick, i’ll keep this as it is, but change it on the other ’details’ pic" | |
| 11 Mar 2011 | Andragonous | Loading...Did you steal this from the white house? : ) Kimberly A Taylor replies: "haha, i guess all those ufo sightings have to account for something-thanks" | |
| 12 Mar 2011 | Kerri Jurgens | Loading...This is quite good. I rather enjoyed the biological detail, and your accurate and detailed use of terminology made this creature a lot more believable and easier to understand. Well done! Kimberly A Taylor replies: "thanks-well i hope it’s made some sense, but i certainly found that doing it like this certainly makes it easier to explain rather than just simply writing it in one huge paragraph in the description underneath, and of course, much more interesting. i personally also like to read the in depth descriptions of other people’s creations." | |
| 14 Mar 2011 | Zach Polar_Bexar Rath | Loading...whoa! great detail! Kimberly A Taylor replies: "thanks, i’d thought that i’ll try an put a bit more effort into it this time." | |
| 15 Mar 2011 | Angela Ross | Loading...What a graceful and awesome creature! I love it! How do you design such a thing? Kimberly A Taylor replies: "well thank you, erm to be honest i’ve had this critter, or at least something like it before i redesigned it, knocking around for sometime, it’s pretty much a mix of different kinds of creatures, in some ways, to me, it kinda reminds me of a weird centaur.
but as for the rest, i just did a little research on different animals and their lifestyles"
| 26 Apr 2011 | John R Farley Jr | Loading...The reptilian legs look much better and in place for such a creature. I;m glad you didn’t lose your Mod’s Choice on this. Kimberly A Taylor replies: "yeah, i wasn’t too sure at first, but in the end i decieded to take the risk and go for it, i just made sure that i wrote it in the description. i really just wanted to upload a new version to change the name, and to correct a few spelling mistakes in the text.
